I am excited to have an interview with GarageDays all the way from Austria!
Q. How are things going in Austria as far as Metal goes? I've been there before and it's a beautiful place... I just didn't think I would find a great metal band there!
A. But you found oneJ. It´s hard for metalbands in austria, you have to work really hard to be heard behind the border! But we did it!! Austria have only „an open ear“ for mainstream or „Volksmusic“
Q. You guys formed the band in 2005, with as you put it "a good old 80's metal sound" How did you guys meet?
A. In the Bars aroundJ
Q. When you say good old 80's, how do you feel the music scene has changed since then and why is it important to you to stick to the roots?
A. Because that´s the only thing that´s truth. You know, when you hear an old metalsong it comes directly from the heart with a message! Mostly bands from the 80ies are really famous during the time until now! That´s the way I learned from them! Playing from your heart and soul and be authentic!
Q. Name a few bands that you guys are into that has influenced the band?
A. Judas Priest, Twisted Sister, WASP, Motörhead, Metallica…
Q. Tell me about the progress of the band from 2005, you guys have been super busy recording...
A. I write and compose songs nearly every day.(seems like god loves me,he gave me this talent) That´s why we recorded in 2010 two albums. At the moment we currently working on the next.
Q. When did you guys started working with Andy LaRoque in Sweden?
A. We travelled to Sonictrainstudios Oct 2010. Andy mixed and mastered „Dark and Cold“! It´s a great honor to work with him and we´ll work together soon.
Q. Garagedays is getting ready for a tour in 2011, tell us more about it and who will you be touring with?
A. Well, SIX FEET UNDER cancelled the European Tour 2010, but they´ll make up the Tour 2011. So we´ll be part of it! All other offers are not confirmed yet!
Q. I know you guys have some offers on the table, where do you see the band going with these offers and have you chosen who you may sign with?
A. We are always give 200% and more, so we want a company which is able to guarantee us also 200%! I don´t wanna sell GARAGEDAYS out, I can wait for a good deal. Nuclear Blast or Metal Blade would be coolJ
Q. What is your favorite Rock/Metal club in Austria and why?
A. We haven´t one! Such a shame!!
Q. When can we expect you in US?
A. We had contact to Whisky a Gogo, and we would like to come 2011. We´ll see if we are able to save enough money to travelling to LA. It would be great, but at the moment I had to buy a new guitarJ
